Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. -- Albert Einstein
You must have heard "Kalyana Samayal satham" song at some point. Well, may be not quite there, but I certainly hope the posts in this blog enrich your cooking experience and lets you approach cooking with a SMILE, rather than as a chore or a rules to follow regimen. Anything Vegetarian goes, ONLY criterion: The end product MUST taste good - to those you are serving.

கொஞ்சம் நார்த் கொஞ்சம் சவுத்!..... புத்தாண்டு ஸ்பெஷல் !!!! - North meets South for the new Year special!
Inru arambikkum puthiya andu ungalukku nalla things koodivara ethuvaha irukattum!
What did you do specially today. You know elders used to say, you can pretty much gauge how your is going to be from how this day turns out!...
I have been thinking ... we do the routine lunch menu for New Year, more kuzhambu, paruppu rasam, kootu, vegetable, poli, vadai, etc.,
So for a change let us bring unity between North and South India, in today's menu.
Yes, we have More kuzhambhu, and they have Kadi!
So here is the recipe for Morekadi!(or Morekuzhambhudi!)
Choose from cucumber, white pumpkin, brinjal, ladies finger or chow-chow and cut into pieces for kuzhambu. Set aside.
In a bowl, take half a spoon of toor dal, green chillies according to taste, little bit ginger, coriander seeds few, cumin seeds like 1/4 spoon, a spoonful of urad dal and dania. Soak in water for half hour. Decant , add cocoanut (grated or powder) half cup and blend into a smooth paste.
In a cooking vessel, take 2-3 spoons of oil, add mustard and let them pop. Then add the vegetables, cover and keep for 2-3 min. Add some water and boil.
Take yoghurt and a quarter spoon of rice powder and make into a smooth liquid, add to the vegetable mix and boil in low for 10-15 min. Add bengal gram powder mixed in water and boil some more. Add popped mustard seeds and jeera to top it off and some asafoetida and kadi paththa.
Your MORE_KADI is ready!
