அசல்டா ஒரு டால்! - Lentil Daal in a jiffy!
Asalta oru daal!
Cook toor, moong or a combination of daals you have.
Take a sauce pan, add some ghee and pop mustard seeds and cumin seeds, plus a hint of asafoetida. Add finely cut ginger and green chillies, and tomatoes. (onions and garlic if you like).
Add the cooked dal, and as much water as you need. Add salt to taste, 1/4 spoon of turmeric powder, little bit garam masala/ rasam powder, little bit chilli powder.
Let it simmer.
Add chopped coriander leaves.
Yummy dal is ready to serve!
Raita:
Cut onions, tomato, carrots, cucumber,(any one or a combination) or ready made bhoondi will do.
Add yoghurt and a little water, salt and pop mustard seeds and add to this. Top off with cut coriander leaves.
If you are using bhoondi, do not add mustard seeds. Instead, add a little bit of chilli powder.
Salad:
Just onions, green chillies and lemon and salt will do. OR
you can have tomatoes, cucumber, onions and carrots cut into nice shapes, add a little bit of salt and lemon before serving.
With Rice and chappati, these would make a simple, yet a sumptuous dinner.
Can be ready under 30-45 min.
Happy cooking!
